I was writing another post earlier today when my mind was triggered by a thought I had pushed to the side a few weeks ago and so I felt now was the time to release the buried thought….
My thought was about information and how we all go about to consume it each and everyday to better ourselves or our businesses.
More specifically “The Secrets” of the “Gurus”
Where do we all get our information from? Better yet where do all the famous “Gurus” and experts such as Tony Robbins,Mike Filsaime, Russel Brunson get their information from? (and many more)
Where do they get their information for their e-books, DVD’s, CD’s, and coaching programs?
They consume information by reading books, magazines and watching and listening to others regardless if those others are experts, gurus, or just closet philosophers. Then they re-disseminate that information based on their own words, experiences into products of their own with a new label and twist.
They also go to other experts and gurus who have a “higher” status of education or experience levels in a specific subject area. They either pay for that information or get it free in one form or another (paid coaching, seminar, over dinner, phone call, etc)
What is every information product such as books,e-books, DVD’s,CD’s, magazines, etc. based on? If there were no books, magazines, newspapers there would be nothing to consume or to learn from. There would be nothing to re-disseminate. There would be no seminars, coaching, or e-books.
Every book, magazine, and information product was written or developed based on what somebody else has either seen, heard, or read somewhere else at least in part.
So is there really a “secret”?
The thing is many of the “gurus” want you to believe that there is a “secret” to success when in fact their “secrets” are relative terms to tactics that can be used that lead to success but “secret” is a relative word because what you don’t know, is already out there somewhere, and it is only a “secret” to you.
This is the death of the secret. The last real secret….
